Mr. & Mrs. Money

Last weekend Spencer and I were invited to a western themed murder mystery dinner party given by some of Spencer's good friends and their wives. It was up at a mansion up in Midway... the perfect location! It seriously was so much fun! It was the "Murder at the Deadwood Saloon" and we were all given a character to come dressed as and a part to play throughout the night. I was Elizabeth Money, a snobby rich lady from Chicago, and Spencer was my husband, Montgomery Money who was investing in the West. It was a crack up to watch everybody act like their characters and speak in western accents all night. Spencer ended up being the murderer, and I was completely clueless. He did a great job throwing us off his trail. It was such a fun night and I completely adore that entire group.

O Christmas Tree!

We just finished decorating our very first Christmas tree! It was a fun project. We thought we were going to go to a tree lot and buy a real one, but when we realized the money that was going into the tree, a stand, and lights we decided that we might as well splurge a little on a fake one that we can use year after year. So... we headed off to the all amazing Target with a bunch of our wedding gift cards and wah lah! We bought this pretty little thing. I have been on the look out for pretty Tiffany blue ornaments and with the help of my cute mom we found a bunch of cute ones. I also used some vintage ornaments, burlap garland, and a hint of red with some berries. Oh I LOVE Christmas time! Decorating our condo has been a lot of fun for me.:)

Merry Christmas!

Honeymoon Cruise!

Since Spencer and I got married three days before school started, we didn't really have the chance to take a real honeymoon vacation. We did spend a few days up in Midway, which was so relaxing and romantic! We absolutely loved it, but Midway doesn't really compare to a Caribbean cruise! We planned this trip in April, so we've been anxious for it to come for such a long time. Spencer has never been on a cruise so I was especially excited for him! It was the best time for a trip - before finals and when the cold weather hit Utah. It was such an incredible trip!! We had the time of our lives! It was the best thing in the world to spend a week in the sun with my hubby and best friend. It went by way too fast!

On the first night, Spencer participated in the "Welcome Show" in the theater. He basically had to run around on the stage for ten minutes. haha
This was the first formal night on the ship. It turned out the be one of the funniest nights ever. For formal night, backdrops with props are set up all over the ship where you can have your professional picture taken. Some of the backdrops and props are so cheesy and hilarious. We did take some normal pics, but then we tried to find the funniest one we could (we think they're funny, but the photographers and many guests think they are so classy). We found a set with a white draping background and a little pillar with champagne glasses and a rose on it. We decided to try to take some serious/quirky/awkward pictures. I couldn't hold it together because of the faces and poses my husband was making - I had tears rolling down my face. He was totally loving playing the part, he was so serious. It was making me laugh so hard. We almost bought one of the pictures because it was so awkward and one of the funniest things ever.

1st Port: Cozumel, Mexico

We got a great deal on a snorkeling excursion in Cozumel. A boat took us out to three different snorkeling spots. It was so much fun to be in that warm turquoise water! Spencer and I were both in heaven!

We each got an unlimited soda card for the week... I think we drank one too
many Shirley Temples!
2nd Port: Belize
We went cave tubing in Belize, which was quite the adventure. On our way there, our driver got a flat tire while going 70mph on a rainy road! Then a van came to help us, and as they were pulling over they got hit from behind by a car that didn't see them signal that they were pulling over. We witnessed a huge fight in broken english... couldn't really understand them except for all the swear words. Kinda scary, but made for a good story!
We were given helmets with lights on them and tubes to float down through the caves. It was super cool! It looked like a scene in the caves from 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. We even saw bats flying around. It was such a fun adventure.
It was fun to walk around at night on the top deck of the ship. I love to find the front of the ship and let the wind hit my face.

There was an adult only section on the top deck with all these amazingly comfortable hammocks, lounge chairs, and round bed cushion things. We loved going up there!
3rd Port: Roatan, Honduras

In Honduras, we went to Las Palmas private beach. We made friends with one of the workers on the ship (Iputo from Indonesia) who gave us tips and secrets of where to go and how to get the best local deals. He told us about this beautiful beach. We got caught in a big rain storm while playing in the ocean... everybody there ran for cover, but Spencer and I kept playing in the rain. It was so much fun and romantic!

2nd formal night
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
This is a special version of a pumpkin-chocolate pie. Yummy... but didn't even come close to the chocolate melting cake that we may or may not have gotten EVERY night. Honestly, one of the best parts of the cruise for me! I'm having withdrawals, but on the last night our waiter surprised me with a copy of the recipe from the chef!! Yesss!

4th Port: Grand Cayman

I hugged this exact same tree when I was in Grand Cayman for senior trip... so I had to do it again in honor of Lace and Tra!

7-mile beach - the most beautiful beach I've been too!

Mexican buffet
Our last day was a sea day - so we relaxed and soaked up the sun for the last time.

Aww precious heart towel.
It was the most amazing trip!! Take me back!
